You can make a real difference with each cup of Audubon Premium Shade Grown Coffee. Certified 100% Sustainable by the Rainforest Alliance, a 3rd party certification that ensures farmers have brought their operations up to Rainforest Alliance's standards for protecting wildlife, wild lands, workers’ rights and local communities. A very important aspect of the coffee agricultural certification is that it's grown under a natural, tropical forest canopy.
This protects neotropical migratory bird habitats. Our coffee is grown without harmful chemical fertilizers or pesticides and protects the environment and water supply for people who grow and harvest the coffee and for the wildlife that makes its home in the tropical forests. The importers and roasters of Audubon Premium Shade Grown Coffee, the Rogers Family Company, runs its unique Community Aid program on the farms that supply Audubon Coffee.
The company spends over $800,000 per year on farms in Mexico and Central America building schools, health clinics, child nutrition programs, and stay-in-school programs. The National Audubon Society is proud to partner with the Rogers Family Company on Audubon Premium Shade Grown Coffee. We are proud to serve you sustainable, organic and delicious coffee.

Certified Shade Grown Organic Coffee
Better in so many ways
Many coffee lovers are also nature lovers and birdwatchers. Wouldn't it be great if you could help conserve birds and nature simply by enjoying a fabulous cup of coffee? You can!
Audubon Premium Shade Grown Coffee is made exclusively from carefully selected Arabica beans cultivated by traditional farmers in the most well renowned coffee regions of the world. These exceptional farmers use traditional production techniques in order to grow their beans as nature intended—under a lush canopy of tropical trees, home to warblers and resident rainforest wildlife.
In an effort to boost production, many coffee farmers have switched to full sun farming, destroying native shade trees, leaving only a monoculture of trees and little possibility for wildlife habitation. Audubon Shade Grown Premium Coffees are grown in harmony with nature, without pesticides, and with fair treatment and conditions for workers.
Protected from rain and sun by the forest canopy, these coffee beans mature slowly and naturally, bathed by gentle mists and filtered sunlight, accompanied by birdsong and butterflies, while absorbing the flavors of the rainforest. The result is a superior coffee; fresh roasted and vacuum packed to seal in all those natural flavors.
Directions
Start with fresh, cold water heated to just off the boil (195-205F) Start with a minimum of 2 tablespoons of ground coffee for each 6 ounces of water. Adjust to taste. Enjoy your coffee within 20 minutes of brewing or place in a carafe.
Suggested Use
To brew a great cup of coffee...
Grinding Whole Bean
Start with just enough beans for one pot of coffee. Use 1-2 levels tablespoons of ground coffee for every 6 ounces of water. Courser grounds make milder coffee. Finer grounds make stronger coffee. If ground too fine, the coffee can taste bitter.
Use The Right Equipment
For best results, use a French press or automatic drip coffee maker with the appropriate size filter. Water is an important ingredient in a good cup of coffee, so always start with fresh, cold water. For best flavor, use bottled or filtered water.
Preserve The Flavor
To keep that fresh brewed flavor, promptly transfer your perfect pot of coffee into a thermos or carafe.
