What Is L-Ornithine L-Aspartate?

L-ornithine L-aspartate is a combination of two amino acids: ornithine and aspartic acid. Ornithine is a nonessential, nonprotein amino acid that is created when arginine is broken down during the Krebs cycle. With aspartic acid (another amino acid), it is believed to help convert ammonia to urea and support liver function. L-ornithine L-aspartate works well when combined with BCAAs (branched chain amino acids) as part of a preworkout regimen.
