The user fills the water bowl and after a period of time, the pump will turn on and draw water up to the top of the receptacle and rain back down into the receptacle, where gravity takes over and the water flows back into the bowl from the receptacle. FAQ’s:
Pump – the pump automatically turns off after drawing water up to the receptacle. It will turn on after a period of time to repeat the process. The pump does not run continuously 24 hours a day. It will turn on and off after set periods of time and repeat
Gravity Hole – if you live in an area where you have “hard” water, the hole that allows water to come out of the receptacle may become clogged with minerals. Use a paperclip or safety pin to unclog the water deposit
Batteries – if new, good quality batteries are used, the battery life should last roughly 3-4 months
Water Level –ONLY fill the fountain BOWL with fresh water (do not fill the receptacle). It’s important that fresh water be added frequently to keep the water level from getting too low and potentially burning out the pump.
